Core Systems Lead

Job Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Negotiate and own the project scope, plan, and timelines

  • Managing project progress and adapt work as required and ensuring projects meet deadlines

  • Managing project relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with business teams and stakeholders

  • Gather and report detailed performance data against key indicators, to generate actionable improvements to the quality of service offered

  • Regularly interacts across functional areas with stakeholders of various departments to ensure project objectives are met

  • Lead and develop high-performing teams, supporting Agile working practices, and digital delivery culture. Promote resilience and responsiveness in the organization by being open and honest about challenges, and the actions required to address unexpected

Requirements and Solutioning

  • Deliver technology solutions that are critical to the day-to-day operations and continued growth of the business

  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions with business users

  • Document requirements for new features, data capture, process functions, reports, and training

  • Identifies and analyses operational risks, collect security expectations, and finds an optimal solution

Functional and System Knowledge

  • Develop expertise on internal systems and understand the functionalities of the system

  • Designs solutions in alignment with security architecture standards

  • Translate business requirements/problem statements into system changes

  • Analyze the impact of changes to previously implemented releases

  • Document business requirements, user stories, and solution approach

  • Understand system integrations and dependencies

  • Analyze the impact of changes on systems and integrations

Business Analysis

  • Process mapping and workflow creation

  • Assist in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules

  • Develop comprehensive testing structures and test plans

  • Execute tests, analyze and document results, and address issues as and when they arise

  • Manage communication across all stakeholder groups

  • Be involved and engaged through software development life cycle and own requirement management end to end from initiation through implementation

Team and Vendor Management

  • Should be a strong team manager and team player with a winning attitude

  • Responsible for the leadership and management within Technology Development and leading of teams, particularly technical team leaders and technical specialists, to promote a culture of service innovation and delivery

  • Manage Vendors and have good communication skills to optimally communicate the business needs to the vendor and get the project work completed by the vendor as per the project timeline


  • Education: Degree in IT/Computer Science / Engineering

  • Work Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience with 6+ years of experience in managerial and people management roles

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work at a ground level and also able to manage a team

  • Knowledge of the financial services domain will be an added advantage – but not mandatory

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Experience in delivering applications development, integrations, data warehousing, and analytics solutions

  • Web and Mobile technologies

  • Deep understanding of SOAP/Rest web services

  • Knowledge of Open source technologies

  • Experience in managing enterprise applications including ERP, HRMS, and CRM systems

  • Working Knowledge of customer communication channels including IVR, Web, Chat, Whatsapp, SMS, etc.

  • Deep understanding of SDLC process

  • Projects and program management based on Agile framework

  • Expertise in software quality management standards and testing process

  • Expertise in application support and escalation management

Soft Skills

  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for effective delivery of the projects assigned

  • Strong verbal and written communicator, able to speak with the business stakeholders and understand the requirements
